Today there is dancing in my cubicle

11:43 PM

Happy Tuesday!

I slept in for an extra hour today before leaving for my terrifically annoying job which pretty much involves me sitting in a cubicle somewhere in the annals of the US Embassy in New Delhi India and researching statistics on AIDS. It keeps me cheery all day.

Ok so maybe not but there are things that absolutely make me dance about whilst I waste away here at work.

First- Janelle Monae, a woman who has produced very few songs and a single video, which is absolutely amazing, by the way. Janelle also makes me believe that I could one day live my life a-la Karl in only black and white and also wear a bow-tie every day.

I had a lovely sit down with my tailor last night- goodness I’ll miss that when I get back to America- and I’m getting some lovely little sundresses made. All very cute- scoop necks and full skirted I have my fitting tomorrow! Dresses on Friday!

You have probably not heard of Manish Arora, an Indian designer who ranks among my favorites of all time, as his western debut was in 2007, but here in India he is somewhat of a legend and I want to show you why.

Brace yourselves kids, this is about to get crazy.
There are a few perks to living in India and let me just say that this man has a store ten minutes from my house where small red-haired girls with as little as 200 dollars can go buy dresses.
Jealous? Should be.

Here’s his Paris S/S 09 collection, which my friend Maddie worked with him on. That means her quick little fingers are in part respinsible for these works of art

*swoon*
